Catalogue (illustrated) Fine arts department
Illustrated catalogue of the Fine Arts Department of the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition, printed in Nashville by the Brandon Company in 1897 for exhibition visitors and buyers. Halftone plates reproduce exhibited paintings — rural gatherings, harbor and market crowds, a woman gathering blossoms — alongside portrait photographs of artists, all in soft gray tones with heavy ink loss that flattens detail into broad shapes usable as textured grounds or silhouettes.
