Catalogue of a collection of old embroideries of the Greek islands and Turkey
An exhibition catalogue of Greek island and Turkish embroideries, compiled by A. J. B. Wace and Sir William Lawrence and printed in London for the Burlington Fine Arts Club in 1914 for its members and collectors of textiles. The plates reproduce stitched patterns as solid black silhouettes on cream paper, with stepped and toothed edges, symmetrical flowering trees, facing birds, and rosette lattices, alongside drawn printer's ornaments; useful as stencil-ready motifs, borders, and repeat units.
