A catalogue of the collection of the Right Honourable Edward Earl of Oxford deceas'd ... which will be sold by auction, by Mr. Cock, at his house in the great piazza, Covent-Garden, on Monday the 8th of March, 1741-2, and the five following days
An auction sale catalogue for the art and curiosities of Edward Harley, second Earl of Oxford, issued in London in 1742 by the auctioneer Christopher Cock for collectors and dealers attending the six-day sale, with plates engraved by George Vertue. The engraved title page builds an architectural library interior of shelved folios, columns, marble busts and sculpture fragments around a central roundel holding an inscribed obelisk, a winged figure, unicorn and lion above the motto "Virtute et Fide" — useful for heraldic supporters, banner scrolls, and framing devices assembled from books and antiquities.
