A catalogue of the Greek and Etruscan vases in the British Museum
A scholarly museum catalogue of the Greek and Etruscan vases held by the British Museum's Department of Greek and Roman Antiquities, printed in London in 1893 for curators, classicists and collectors. The plates redraw vase paintings as flat black silhouettes and fine outline drawings, with warriors, chariot horses, shields blazoned with eagles and lions, and long borders of palmette, lotus, meander and tongue ornament usable as rules, spot figures and repeating pattern strips.
