Catalogue of the mediaeval ivories, enamels, jewellery, gems and miscellaneous objects bequeathed to the museum by Frank McClean
A museum catalogue compiled by O. M. Dalton for the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, published in 1912, recording the medieval ivories, enamels, jewellery and gems left by Frank McClean for curators and collectors. Collotype plates photograph carved ivory panels, enamelled plaques and metal brooches straight on against plain grounds, giving relief figure groups, interlace and vine-scroll borders, and radial cloisonné patterns that can be traced as ornament or framing devices.
