A catalogue of paintings, drawings, etchings and lithographs
A collector's catalogue of the paintings, drawings, etchings and lithographs of Alphonse Legros, compiled by Frank E. Bliss with notes by Charles Ricketts and Campbell Dodgson and printed in London in 1922 for print collectors and curators. The plates reproduce Legros's etchings and drypoints: bare-trunked trees against blank sky, peasants sleeping or seated on banks, and hillsides built entirely from hatching, ranging from open line sketches to near-black tonal passages useful for texture, silhouette and hand-drawn shading.
