Catalogue of paintings and sculpture in the collection of Charles T. Yerkes, esq., New York
A private collection catalogue of the paintings and sculpture owned by Chicago traction financier Charles T. Yerkes, printed in Boston by A. W. Elson in 1904 for the collector and his circle. The 95 plates are soft photogravure reproductions of nineteenth-century canvases—cattle at pasture, wooded riverbanks, hazy skies—with heavy black masses, blurred edges and wide tonal range useful for atmospheric backgrounds and duotone textures.
