A trade catalogue and price list issued by the Philadelphia furniture manufacturers Cooper and Hall in 1873 for retail dealers and buyers ordering sofas, tables and parlour pieces. The wood-engraved plates show single pieces in three-quarter view against blank grounds, with scrollwork pedestals, turned finials, drop pendants and carved cabriole feet rendered in close parallel hatching that a designer can lift as isolated silhouettes, ornament motifs or line-shading samples.
