Catalogues of exhibitions
Bound exhibition catalogues issued around 1900 by the Copley Society of Boston, printed by G. H. Ellis for members and gallery visitors, reproducing works shown in its shows. The 96 halftones are soft-focus tonal plates of painterly subjects — a woman collapsed in foliage, figures struggling in surf, a lamplit head, a girl opening a chest — useful for murky chiaroscuro, silhouettes and drapery studies.
