Catalogus bibliothecae Harleianae, in locos communes distributus cum indice auctorum
A Latin sale catalogue of the Harleian Library, printed in London by Thomas Osborne in 1743 and compiled with help from Samuel Johnson, Michael Maittaire and William Oldys for collectors and dealers buying Earl Edward Harley's books. The plates are letterpress ornaments: woodcut headbands with acanthus scrolls and portrait medallions, a framed initial B with winged cherub head, and lozenge and fan-shaped tailpieces of putti, urns and flowers, all usable as rules, drop caps and section breaks.
