Cathedral antiquities
John Britton's Cathedral Antiquities, issued in London from 1814 by Longman and partners, surveyed English cathedrals in engraved plates for antiquaries, architects and subscribers. The plates give elevations, sections and interior perspectives in fine line with grey wash shading: tracery windows, Norman arcades, vaulting ribs and sepulchral monuments, usable as measured ornament sources or architectural line stock.
