Celtic art in pagan and Christian times
A survey of Celtic ornament from the Bronze Age through the illuminated manuscript period, written by antiquarian J. Romilly Allen and published by Methuen in London in 1904 for students of archaeology and design. Line drawings break interlaced knotwork, spirals and key patterns into square and rectangular panels, showing construction stages, so borders, tiles and repeats can be copied or recombined.
