China, its costume, arts, manufactures, &c. : edited principally from the originals in the cabinet of the late M. Bertin, with observations explanatory, historical, and literary
A four-volume English account of Chinese dress, crafts and daily life, compiled by Jean Baptiste Breton from drawings in Henri Bertin's collection and issued in London by J.J. Stockdale in 1812 for European readers curious about China. Small outline engravings show sedan chairs, carts, wheelbarrows, mounted travellers and porters, useful as line-drawn vehicle and figure silhouettes against blank ground.
