Chinese art
A two-volume museum handbook on Chinese art written by Stephen W. Bushell for the Victoria and Albert Museum and printed by HMSO in London in 1905, aimed at students, collectors and craft workers using the South Kensington collections. The plates are halftone studio photographs of porcelain, bronze, jade and lacquer against plain grey grounds, with line drawings of ornament, giving clean silhouettes of vessel shapes and legible dragon, floral scroll and figure-scene decoration to trace or cut out.
