Christophori Clauii Bambergensis ex Societate Iesu in sphaeram Ioannis de Sacro Bosco commentarius,
Christoph Clavius's Latin commentary on the Sphere of Sacrobosco, printed in Venice by Bernardo Basa in 1596 for Jesuit teachers and university students of astronomy. The woodcuts are geometric diagrams set in text: lettered circles, concentric orbs, armillary rings, and a rayed sun casting light on a column, useful as line-work motifs and celestial schematics.
