Christus; a mystery
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's verse drama trilogy on Christian history, from the Nativity through medieval legend to Puritan New England, issued in 1900 by Houghton, Mifflin of Boston and New York for general readers of poetry. Most pages are set verse with italic stage directions and small-capital speaker names; the closing Riverside Press device is a woodcut of a seated man kindling a fire beneath a tree against a rayed sun, with a ribbon motto.
