An engraved manual of the five classical orders drawn after Andrea Palladio by Giovanni Francesco Costa, published in Venice in 1784 for architects, builders and students learning proportion. The plates are fine copperplate elevations and plans of bases, capitals and entablatures, each part lettered and gridded with module numbers, offering Ionic volutes, fluting, egg-and-dart and foliate mouldings, bucrania in a Doric metope, and volute construction geometry as clean line art.
