The claims of decorative art
A collection of essays on design, craft and socialism by the English illustrator and Arts and Crafts designer Walter Crane, published in Boston and New York in 1892 for artists, craftsmen and reformers. The plates are horizontal pen-and-ink headpieces: winged figures, mermaids, swans and nude allegories set in dense acanthus and laurel scrollwork, usable as banners, borders and chapter ornaments.
