Classical antiquities;
A student handbook of Greek and Roman antiquities, compiled by the German scholar Johann Joachim Eschenburg and translated and edited by Nathan Welby Fiske for American college classrooms, published in Philadelphia by E. C. Biddle in 1843. The numbered plates crowd outline engravings of lamps, vessels, altars, plows, scales, armor and standards together with sacrifice scenes, house plans and temple elevations, giving designers keyed inventories of small isolated objects on open ground.
