The clays and clay industries of Connecticut
A Connecticut state survey bulletin on clay deposits and their working, written by geologist G. F. Loughlin and printed in Hartford in 1905 for geologists, brickmakers and potters. Halftone photographic plates show stripped clay pits with benched faces, open river flats, wagon and horse teams for scale, and long timber kiln sheds with stacked brick, offering grainy industrial landscapes and plain wooden shed structures.
