The coal tar colours of Farbwerke vorm. Meister Lucius & Brüning, Hoechst on Main, Germany and their application in wool dyeing
A 1910 New York trade catalogue issued by H. A. Metz for the German dye works Meister, Lucius & Brüning of Hoechst am Main, listing coal-tar colours and their use in wool dyeing for mill owners and textile chemists. The two plates are printed endpaper or cover designs in olive and gold: a repeating Art Nouveau lattice of the interlaced MLB monogram inside pointed leaf frames, with a central cartouche holding a reclining lion against a rayed sun, useful as tiling patterns, monogram lockups and badge shapes.
