The coins of the Moghul emperors of Hindustan in the British museum
A British Museum departmental catalogue of Mughal coinage, compiled by Stanley Lane-Poole under Reginald Stuart Poole and printed for the Trustees in London in 1892 for numismatists and museum curators. The plates are collotype photographs of silver and gold coins shot straight on against plain grounds, obverse and reverse paired, with Persian and Arabic inscriptions, mint names and regnal dates filling each disc beside small numerals; useful for circular calligraphic layouts, struck-metal texture and grids of repeated round forms.
