The collected mathematical works of George William Hill
Collected papers of the American celestial mechanician George William Hill, issued in 1905 by the Carnegie Institution of Washington for astronomers and mathematicians working on lunar and planetary theory. The plates here are letterpress mathematics rather than pictures: long series expansions, double integrals, cosine terms and partial-derivative arrays, useful to a designer as dense equation texture, fraction stacks and run-on formula lines.
