A 19th-century reprint series, published by Liepmannssohn et Dufour in Paris in 1869, collecting the catalogues of the Paris Salon exhibitions held by the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture between 1673 and 1800, issued for art historians and collectors. The pictures are facsimiles of the original letterpress ornaments: line-cut headpieces and tailpieces of acanthus scrollwork, floral bands, and royal arms with fleurs-de-lis, crowns, and winged putti holding drapery, usable as rules, borders, and crests at small sizes.
