A collection of hieroglyphs : a contribution to the history of Egyptian writing
F. Ll. Griffith's 1898 study for the Egypt Exploration Fund, published in London and Boston, catalogues hieroglyphic sign forms for Egyptologists and students of ancient writing. The plates isolate single signs — falcons, owls, swallows, vultures on perches — drawn in soft coloured pencil with red outlines and flat ochre, green and white fills, giving designers clean, ready-cut animal glyphs.
