The colonial book ..
A silver flatware pattern catalogue issued in 1908 by the Towle Manufacturing Company of Newburyport, Massachusetts, compiled by George P. Tilton and printed in Springfield for the trade and for retail buyers of colonial-revival tableware. Plates show spoons, forks and serving pieces in tonal halftone against cream grounds, drawn at and near actual size, with beaded stems, pierced scrollwork handles and shaded bowls that supply ornament motifs, silhouette shapes and catalogue-page layouts.
