Colonial homes and their furnishings
A survey of early American houses and their interiors by Salem photographer-writer Mary Harrod Northend, published by Little, Brown in Boston in 1912 for collectors and homeowners furnishing in the colonial taste. Halftone photographs record mantels, panelled chimney breasts, brass andirons, highboys, claw-foot tables and papered walls in flat grey tones, useful for period furniture silhouettes, moulding profiles and hardware detail.
