Color and its distribution in printing. How to estimate ink
A 1916 printing-trade manual by Emory Cobb Andrews, issued by the Inland Printer Company in Chicago to teach pressmen and estimators how color is distributed on a sheet and how much ink a job consumes. Plates pair specimen jobs with their ink tests: a red-and-black civic crest wreathed in oak leaves, line-drawn parlor furniture inside a repeating border, flat solid-ink fields, and gray halftone washes printed as coverage samples.
