Varia commensuracion para la escultura y arquitectura
A Spanish manual of proportion and measurement for sculptors, silversmiths and architects, written by the goldsmith Juan de Arfe y Villafañe in the 1580s and reissued in Madrid in 1773 by the printer Miguel Escribano for working craftsmen and students. The plates are woodcut and engraved line diagrams — compass constructions, lettered arcs and vesicas, radiating sundial and shadow charts with numbered scales, alongside figure, animal and architectural proportion studies — offering usable geometric armatures, dotted construction lines and small letter-and-numeral labels.
