A trade manual for carriage, wagon and sleigh painters by Fritz Schriber, issued by M.T. Richardson in New York in 1903, written for shop hands learning lettering, striping and ornament. The plates are largely alphabet specimens — heavy serif and script capitals shown one letter to a block — alongside scrollwork, striping diagrams and ornamental panels, useful as period sign-painting letterforms and flourish stock.
