Cométographie; ou, Traité historique et théorique des comètes.
Alexandre Guy Pingré's Cométographie, a two-part history and theory of comets printed by the Imprimerie royale in Paris in 1783 for astronomers and mathematicians. Engraved plates hold numbered geometric figures — orbital triangles, arcs, and zodiac-ringed diagrams with planetary symbols — alongside letterpress tables of degrees, minutes, and seconds usable as line diagrams, numeric texture, or old-style figure specimens.
