An art-historical survey of Constantinople's monuments written by Hermann Barth and published in Paris by H. Laurens in 1913 for French readers of its illustrated city-art series. The hundred halftone photographs show mosques, Byzantine brick walls and ruined palaces, domed exteriors seen across waste ground, and dim colonnaded interiors—useful for grainy architectural texture, arch profiles, and tonal studies of masonry.
