Contributions to the Centennial Exhibition
Engineer John Ericsson's own account of his machines and instruments, printed for the author at The Nation Press in New York for the 1876 Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia. Engraved plates show sectioned solar and caloric engines, pyrometers, and measuring instruments in tilted three-quarter views, with hatched shading, dotted ray diagrams, and lettered keys useful as precise machine-part silhouettes.
