Contributions to the history of the south-western portion of the United States

Bandelier, Adolph Francis Alphonse, 1840-1914 · 1890 · Cambridge : John Wilson and Son, University Press · 25 pictures

An 1890 archaeological report by Adolph Bandelier, printed for the Archaeological Institute of America by the University Press in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and aimed at scholars of Southwestern pueblo history and Spanish documentary sources. The plates are pen-drawn site plans and sections in dense hachured contour lines, with room blocks, plazas and cave openings keyed by small letters, and a few cutaway drawings of rock-cut chambers; useful for contour-line textures, figure-ground plan shapes and hand-lettered map keys.
