Cours d'architecture, ou, Traité de la décoration, distribution & construction des bâtiments : contenant les leçons données en 1750, & les années suivants
Jacques-François Blondel's Cours d'architecture, published in Paris in 1771 from lectures begun in 1750 and completed by Pierre Patte, taught decoration, planning and construction to architecture students. Surviving images here are letterpress ornament and binding papers: engraved corner scrollwork with flower-filled urns, a woodcut rose spray, and combed marbled endpapers in red, blue and ochre usable as borders, spot ornaments or backgrounds.
