Cours de mathématique : contenant toutes les parties de cette science, mises à la portée des commençants
Christian Wolff's multi-volume mathematics course in French translation, printed in Paris by Charles-Antoine Jombert in 1757 for students beginning the subject, and once owned by John Adams. The engraved plates set labelled figures against plain backgrounds compare, as here, the five classical column orders drawn in elevation with ruled hatching, shaded entablatures and lettered keys type specimens of diagram drawing usable as ornament, reference or technical texture.
