The crown of wild olive ; also, Munera pulveris ; Pre-Raphaelitism ; Aratra Pentelici ; The ethics of the dust ; Fiction, fair and foul ; The elements of drawing
A collected edition of John Ruskin's essays and lectures — The Crown of Wild Olive, Munera Pulveris, Pre-Raphaelitism, Aratra Pentelici, The Ethics of the Dust, Fiction Fair and Foul, and The Elements of Drawing — issued in Boston by the Aldine Book Publishing Company for general American readers in the late nineteenth century. Most cuts come from the drawing manual: bare outlines of leaves and thistles, blotted silhouettes, cross-hatched branches against a tree trunk, and diagrams of stem growth with dotted construction lines, useful as botanical line art and as ready-made lessons in contour versus shading.
