A book of English gardens, written
A survey of English country-house gardens written by M. R. Gloag and illustrated in watercolour by Katharine Montagu Wyatt, published by Methuen in London in 1906 for garden enthusiasts and visitors. The colour plates show terraces, clipped yew, brick steps, lily pools and massed herbaceous borders in loose wet washes, giving designers saturated greens, flower-bed colour patches and shadowed lawn textures.
