The building trades
A 1916 survey of Cleveland's building trades and the school training feeding them, written by Frank L. Shaw for the Survey Committee of the Cleveland Foundation and addressed to educators and civic reformers. The halftone photographs show construction sites mid-build: steel and concrete frames without walls, excavated ground, scaffolding, lumber piles and workmen dwarfed by open structural bays.
