Gardens of England
A 1911 A. & C. Black colour-plate volume on English gardens, written by the horticultural journalist E. T. Cook with watercolours by Beatrice Parsons, aimed at British garden owners and plant enthusiasts. The nineteen plates are loose, high-key watercolour views of herbaceous borders, rose beds, clipped hedges and gravel walks, offering designers dense stippled masses of pink, red and mauve flower colour set against dark tree banks, brick walls and garden archways.
