A gardening memoir by Louise Beebe Wilder, published by Doubleday, Page in Garden City, New York, in 1920 for American amateur gardeners, with plates signed by Will Simmons. The drawings are dense drypoint-like studies of borders in high contrast: massed roses, foxglove and delphinium spires against stone arches, steps, urns and pergola lattice, useful as ready-made black-and-white foliage texture.
