My garden in spring
A gardener's account of the spring season at Myddelton House, written by E. A. Bowles and published in London by T. C. & E. C. Jack in 1914 for amateur plantsmen and collectors. The plates are halftone garden photographs in which pale blossoms — anemones, crocuses, flowering shrubs — read as white shapes against near-black foliage, useful as high-contrast botanical silhouettes and textured backgrounds.
