Inductive elementary physical science with inexpensive apparatus, and without laboratory equipment

Bailey, Frederick H. (Frederick Harold), 1865- · 1897 · Boston, D. C. Heath & Co. · 56 pictures

A school physics textbook by Frederick H. Bailey, published by D. C. Heath in Boston in 1897, teaching experiments that pupils could build from jars, tubing and rubber stoppers instead of laboratory instruments. The line engravings show hands holding glass vessels, siphon tubes, stopcocks and pouring beakers, with water levels drawn as ruled hatching; useful for cutaway apparatus diagrams, disembodied demonstrating hands, and stippled glass texture.
