Aëronautics: an abridgment of aëronautical specifications filed at the Patent Office from A. D. 1815 to A. D. 1891
A digest of British aeronautical patents filed between 1815 and 1891, compiled by Griffith Brewer and Patrick Y. Alexander for the Patent Office and published by Taylor and Francis in London in 1893 for engineers and inventors. The wood-engraved diagrams show balloons, elongated airships, netting, rigging, propellers and slung cars in flat side elevation, giving designers crisp silhouettes and dense hatched patterning.
