Fifty years in the magic circle; being an account of the author's professional life; his wonderful tricks and feats; with laughable incidents, and adventures as a magician, necromancer, and ventriloquist
An 1871 memoir by the stage magician and ventriloquist Antonio Blitz, recounting his touring life and tricks, published in Hartford by Belknap & Bliss for a general American readership. The pictures are small wood-engraved vignettes with heavy black masses and coarse hatching: a moonlit sea with a sailboat, a snowy slope of stumps, a figure among broken trunks, several fading into oval or irregular edges usable as spots and tailpieces.
