Cambridge water-colours
A colour-plate topographical album of Cambridge published by A. & C. Black in London in 1916, with watercolours by W. Matthison reproduced for general readers, tourists and university alumni. The plates show college gateways, courts, chapels and river walks in loose washes with warm brick reds, deep foliage greens and hazy skies, useful for period colour reproduction texture, architectural silhouettes and soft landscape backgrounds.
