The problem of the unemployed
An economic tract on unemployment, machinery and land nationalization, issued in 1915 by a single-purpose Houston publisher for American reform-minded readers. The eight plates are halftone studio portraits of middle-aged businessmen and officials in collars, neckties and bow ties, lit against dark or vignetted backgrounds, useful for coarse-screen halftone texture, period menswear detail, and oval-framed head-and-shoulders layouts.
