The book of decorative furniture, its form, colour, & history
Edwin Foley's two-volume survey of European furniture forms, ornament and colour, published by G.P. Putnam's Sons in New York in 1911 for collectors, cabinetmakers and decorators. The line drawings isolate single pieces against blank ground — barley-twist table legs, carved bulbous supports, Gothic chair backs — in high-contrast black fill useful as spot silhouettes and ornament details.
