Little romances of china
A short promotional history of pottery issued in 1919 by the Onondaga Pottery Company of Syracuse, New York, privately printed for customers and the china trade. Eight studio photographs show single vessels and place settings against dark draped cloth \u2014 a Chinese famille-rose vase, a lidded urn on a plinth, a Greek red-figure krater, a cup, saucer and plate with scattered floral sprigs \u2014 all reproduced at hard contrast so silhouettes and painted ornament read as flat white shapes on black.
