Houses and gardens

Scott, Mackay Hugh Baille, 1865- · 1906 · London, Newnes · 20 pictures

Houses and Gardens is Arts and Crafts architect M. H. Baillie Scott's account of his domestic designs, published by Newnes in London in 1906 for clients, builders and fellow designers. Reproduced watercolours show timbered halls, inglenooks, window seats and tiled roofs among gardens, with flat washes, pale grounds and stencil-like floral borders useful for pattern and muted palette work.
